Ferrum Apps privacy policy

This policy explains how Ferrum Apps handles data for our Shopify apps and website. It is written to make app data handling clear for merchants, Shopify reviewers, and support requests.

Effective date: June 3, 2026

Company: Ferrum Apps

Privacy contact: support@ferrumapps.com

Overview

Ferrum Apps builds Shopify apps for merchants. We collect only the data needed to install, authenticate, operate, support, secure, and improve our apps. We do not sell merchant data or shopper data.

Shopify app data we may process

Depending on the app installed and the features enabled by the merchant, Ferrum Apps may process shop-level information such as shop domain, shop ID, store name, store email, app installation state, OAuth/session data, access tokens, app billing or subscription state, app configuration, theme app embed state, technical logs, and support messages.

Some apps may also process product, variant, collection, metafield, or theme references selected by the merchant so the app can display storefront features correctly. We use Shopify data only to provide the app functionality, save merchant settings, troubleshoot issues, protect the app, respond to Shopify lifecycle events, and provide support.

We avoid protected customer data unless it is required for a specific app feature. If an app requests protected customer data, we use the minimum data required for that feature and describe that use in the relevant app-specific section below.

Cursor FX

What Shopify data it accesses

Cursor FX may access shop-level installation data, shop domain, Shopify session data, theme app embed state, app-owned metafields or configuration needed for cursor settings, and technical logs needed to keep the app working.

What it stores

Cursor FX stores app settings such as selected cursor effects, image trails, liquid motion, animated cursor circles, colors, sizes, targeting rules, hover behavior, install state, and support or notification state.

What it does not store

Cursor FX does not store Shopify customer records, storefront visitor profiles, order data, payment data, or shopper behavioral profiles. Cursor effects are disabled by default on touch devices and reduced-motion browsers where appropriate.

Bundle Pilot

What Shopify data it accesses

Bundle Pilot may access shop-level installation data, shop domain, selected product or variant references, bundle rules, offer configuration, theme app embed state, and storefront display settings needed to create and show bundle offers.

What it stores

Bundle Pilot stores merchant-created bundle rules, display settings, product or variant references selected by the merchant, pricing or offer configuration, shop/session data, and technical state required to operate the app.

What it does not store

Bundle Pilot does not store payment card data. Unless a specific feature requires it and this policy is updated, Bundle Pilot does not store full customer records or unnecessary order history.

Review Control

What Shopify data it accesses

Review Control may access shop-level installation data, shop domain, selected product references, review display settings, moderation settings, and app configuration needed to manage review presentation and trust signals.

What it stores

Review Control stores shop/session data, merchant settings, review moderation or display configuration, and technical state required to operate the app. If review collection or review import features are enabled, review content may include reviewer information supplied by the merchant, reviewer, or import source.

What it does not store

Review Control does not store payment card data and does not sell review, merchant, or shopper data. Review data is used only to provide review-related functionality for the merchant store.

Upcoming Ferrum Apps

For apps that are not yet published, Ferrum Apps will update this policy before launch if the app introduces new categories of data access, storage, tracking, or sharing.

Website data

When you visit ferrumapps.com, our hosting provider may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, requested pages, and timestamps for security, diagnostics, and website delivery. If you email us or submit a support request, we use the information you provide to respond to that request.

Data sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal data. We may use trusted service providers for hosting, infrastructure, database storage, logging, analytics, email delivery, billing support, and customer support. These providers are used only as needed to operate Ferrum Apps and support merchants.

Shopify compliance webhooks and privacy requests

Ferrum Apps is designed to support Shopify privacy workflows. For public Shopify apps, we configure and respond to Shopify mandatory compliance topics: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact.

If we receive a customer data request and the relevant app stores customer data, we will provide the applicable data to the merchant or Shopify workflow as required. If the app does not store customer records, there may be no customer profile data to provide or delete.

If we receive a customer deletion request, we delete or anonymize applicable customer data held by the relevant app. If we receive a shop deletion request or app uninstall lifecycle event, we delete or anonymize app data that is no longer required, subject to legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations.

Retention and deletion

We keep app configuration and merchant account data while the app is installed and for a limited period after uninstall when needed for support, reinstall recovery, security, billing records, or legal obligations. Access tokens are revoked or deleted when they are no longer needed.

Merchants can request deletion of Ferrum Apps data by contacting support@ferrumapps.com. Store customers who want to exercise privacy rights should contact the merchant first, because the merchant controls the Shopify store and can initiate Shopify customer privacy workflows.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect app data, including access controls, secure transport where applicable, and operational practices intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

International processing

Ferrum Apps and our service providers may process data in countries outside the merchant's country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for this processing.

Children

Ferrum Apps is intended for Shopify merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our apps.

Changes

We may update this policy when our apps, data handling, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when this policy was last updated.
